I grew up in Eagle Rock and the bakery was a favorite place. I remember clearly that it was on the north side of Colorado Blvd & Townsend. I used to walk by in on my way to Dahalia Heights Elementary School back in the 60's
Call and ask..
They have Cannolis, but never seen a Cannoli cake. However, their Italian Rum cake is the best. Try it. Good price too. This is coming from a full Italian too, lol.
Currently employed and do not ship out of state
They have great food. Try the Italian Sausage on the grill, with panned fried peppers oinoins and mushrooms. All on there great rolls. With a side of Canolli's. Mmmmmm. And yes they make great deli sandwiches. Don't forget the Italian cookies!
They have a doodle variety, especially during the holidays.
Only for sandwiches and cold cuts but not for the pastries or cakes
They have the best Italian rum cake though.
I've been coming here for their red bean mochi and pastries for years and they have never disappointed. My favorite is the Mikasa which is their version of the dorayaki red bean pancake sandwich. Their red bean filling has the perfect amount of sweetness. I always get a box of the peanut butter mochi for my boyfriend when I visit. Their display is usually fully stocked but I recommend calling ahead to reserve if there's something you want a lot of.The shop provides parking validation at the Judge Aiso lot just a short walk across the street for purchases $15 or more. You can select a variety of mochi to be placed in a box and they'll wrap it to create a delicious gift!
There are so many different things to enjoy. I keep trying new things and have a delicious experience every time. Latest treat cannoli. Amazing.
This place is amazing! I've tried some I'be desserts from other places but this blows them out of the water.
The smell of the baked goods drew us in. All of the cookies, cakes and pies looked so good. And, they sell pizza dough, homemade sauce and meatballs! They were friendly and helpful. Look forward to returning soon.
I love this spot! It's always a nice vibe when I arrive late at night . I go for the drinks and food, especially street fighter .! Sometimes it can be packed but throughout the night it turns into a smooth crowd. Giving them 5 stars because they always take care of me and treat me with respect. I'm probably heading over there tonight LOL. See you there!
Excellent place. Large variety of Italian specialities.
I usually get the Italian sub, very delicious! And the cookies are fabulous also.. Everything is good there!!
Finally got the chance to check this place out and it was delicious. The staff was really sweet and friendly. We tried the vegetarian quiche, fromage blanc and citrus yogurt cake, all three were absolutely delicious! The Ginger-lemongrass tea was the perfect addition. We will definitely be going back for more!
This cake though..BY FAR, the most beautiful and perfectly made cake I have ever seen. It tastes just as good as it looks which is something hard to find! I would recommend it to everyone for any occasion.
Wonderful Sandwiches great friendly service their bakery a delight love their cookies
Amazing Vegan Donuts and best service ever. Very sweet family that welcomes you as soon as you walk in.
The sandwiches are delightful. They have the best bread my favorite sandwich so far is the ham and cheese with everything (no mayo). I did not care for the tiramisu cake it tasted of pure sugar, but I was inspired to come back for the cookies and other pastries. I'm glad I did.
Great variety of pastries and good tasty cakes, also you can find pizza dough and frozen meat balls and spaghetti sauce.
I am Italian. I really wanted to like this place. I was hoping to find Italian products. They do have Italian stuff but nothing is fresh. Their prosciutto cotto and crudo is old. Ferrarini Italian salame was very old , too. Tiramisù cake - Is not a tiramisù and the ladyfingers cookies tasted very old and soggy. The owner was rude but the 2 guys were nice. Will never come back.
They're cupcakes are delicious. Highly recommend anyone to try. Red velvet and blueberry are our favorites.
The rolls are very crunchy and good , prices very reasonable. Love this place.
The make the best sandwiches. Their bread is the key. AAAAA+++++
Their banana pudding is all I think about, especially now that I'm in quarantine and am never on that side of the hill to grab some! When my coworker was leaving she brought in two large bowls and this was in December and I'm still thinking about it. Delicious, well balanced with the sweetness without being cloying. So obsessed
Love this little bakery. We hadn't been in over a year and finally decided to make the trip to Eagle Rock. So worth it. The owner, sweet old man, prepared the cannolis for us. We also bought some of their jam cookies. If you are in the area and want a fresh cannoli, please visit them!
This is a wonderful bakery. Great sandwiches, cookies and dessert. They have Italian groceries and even pizza dough. I always stop by when possible.
Epic Italian bakery. All the classics done well. Sandwiches on house baked bread / rolls. Yes. Great selection of Italian grocery items. Pro tip: they sell frozen pizza dough for $1.25 you cannot make better dough yourself so don't bother trying. If you are trying, give up and just make your homemade pizza with this. You're not that good. They do it better. Give in. Set yourself free. Also get a loaf of house baked bread to take home. Yesssssss
The best. The 10 min drive and I'm back in Jersey
This is a late review. I visited this bakery last summer and I was stunned to see their collection of truly authentic Italian pasta. I remember buying a black ink squid pasta and it was awesome. They have yummy pastries too. I just wish they had another location closer to downtown LA..
Definitely the best croissant I've ever tried, and if you're skeptical as to how good a croissant really can be (like I was), I challenge you to try this place as well :)
During my trip down to LA, Eagle Rock Italian Bakery & Deli was one food place that multiple people kept recommending to me to try, saying that they would always buy boxes of pastries to bring back. After trying it, I do say that I now understand the hype since the bakery had some excellent breads and pastries that not many places can match in quality.
I absolutely love this bakery. The couple is so sweet and enthusiastic about their goods which makes the purchasing process so much fun.Their cupcakes aren't heavy and overly sweet like most bakery's are. It taste homemade and so delicious.
First of all, I am so grateful Pasta Sisters are open for take out during this uncertain time. I just discovered them last month. Their pasta is divine and cooked to perfection. My favorite sauce so far is the arrabiata. And for some reason, I love their broccoli side that they offer.
Staff is very welcoming and friendly, and there's a nice range of sandwiches, pizza and bakery items. They also have coffee and (at least) vanilla ice cream. While waiting for my order, I watched one of the staff make the bread.
Best rum Italian cake you can find in Los Angeles County! Service is always great and you will not find a better place!
This place is awesome. The sandwiches are excellent and Anthony's home made sauces are killer! Try the boxed ravioli and garlic bread and you will be hooked and the prices are much lower than you'd expect.
This place is usually busy, but there's a good reason for that... it's great. And the line moves pretty fast as well. Great sandwiches and great desserts.
Delicious pastries at an affordable prices!! We highly recommend it to anyone.that loves them , its a clean cozy pastry shop with full size cakes to tiny slices Armen its very kind and helpful. Thank you
Ever since the trends stores mobbed Roma market I've been trying out the other local Italian groceries again. I was last here in the week before the pandemic struck, getting a tiramisu cake for my beloved Vermicella. it was nice to be back, I managed to get away without any cookies, but I took all the suggestions for olive oil and mortadella, but the real reason I came was for the sandwiches, and they were excellent.they were very well-dressed, not as simple as the Roma market sandwich, but something else entirely and something entirely satisfying. What really brings them Head and shoulders above the rest , is their bread, which makes sense because they are a bakery. The bread is kind of perfect with a crusty skin. Great service too
My family has been going there for over 50 years. It was wonderful to see Nick the owner today. I enjoyed watching his expression when my son and I told him how different things in his wonderful bakery was the best in the world. My family comes from Orange County to enjoy ourselves. To Nick and his family and employees. Thank you for always making us feel welcome. The bakery is not just food. It's a institution. My family passed it down to us. I passed it down to my children. Now there taking friends there. Please enjoy
Always great!! Now with all the health safety measures in place.
This place brings back a lot of nostalgia. It has a lot of classic original arcade games I grew up with like Street Fighter II, The Simpsons, NBA Jam, just to be a few. It's a great place to just lounge and have a few drinks, play some games, hang out with friends. It's pretty convenient as it's located in the arts district in downtown LA. I'll have to come back here with more quarters...
One of my favorite spots in LA - period. The service is always great, the selection is unmatched, and I am immediately transported to my childhood in NY with the first bite of every sweet. Definitely try the focaccia on Saturday, and bring cash. (the prices are so reasonable, I often have trouble hitting the $10 card minimum!) FYI - they are open during COVID, and marked spots in line 6ft apart on the curb. I am extremely grateful to the bakery team for helping me maintain a steady stream of rainbow cookies in quarantine.
Started in 1949, family business, full old school bakery with a variety of butter cookies, famous cannolis...New York approved...pasties, and cakes. Besides dessert they have a full deli and a good selection of Italian pasta and specialties. If your Italian and or from the East Coast your taste buds will approve. Stop in and say hello to the sons who peoudly carry on their dad's tradition, Vito, Anthony, and Mom!
I really enjoy the food from here. I had not been in for a while, but all was good. This time I purchased the lunch meat, bread ( my kids love it always buy 2) cookies, the big pickles, pasta sauce, and pizza dough. The last two are the first time I got it and we all enjoyed making our own pizza. The small container was enough for our 4 pizzas and the next day meatball sandwichs. My skn is asking when I can get more. The down side is that you only have street parking. On a normal day it's hard to find a spot. Since the place is small they can only have about 3 people in at one time now. By the way they make wonderful sandwiches to go.!
This review is a little late. Nothing but good things to say about Eagle Rock Italian Bakery & Deli cakes. They did an amazing job on our son's birthday cake both birthdays first and second, exceeding our expectations. Their cakes always moist and filling delicious. Both times I gave them a picture and they delivered exactly what we wanted. Our guests that we served it to were wow'd both times we presented our cake. This place is definitely a go to for any occasion.
Overall, this place was AMAZING and I am definitely going to make it one of my go-to spots (especially since they opened one closer to where I live). Perfect Sunday morning treat!
Friends, a cute-old Italian man(I assume he’s the owner) made us cannoli’s. Fresh. What more could ask for? Oh, sandwiches? Italian goods? Fresh baked breads? Pizza fixings and 1.50 pizza dough? Yeah...I guess they have that too.
Love the cannoli, rum cake, pizza dough ready for the kids
Eagle Rock bakery . just like going to Italy. A Bakery that has been in business forever. Known for there rum cakes Pastries. Need to go early during Christmas season . They make there own Panettone bread. I was able to get the very last one!
Some of the freshest bread, cookies, cakes, sandwiches that you can find in the area.
Bakery items are a cut above anywhere else! Staff is always friendly. I always buy more than I planned.
On my last LA visit, I loved this place so much, I went here twice in one day. I stopped by here on my own in the morning for breakfast, and then later in afternoon with my sister on our way to dinner at Ma'am Sir LA. We grabbed a bunch of desserts to share with my brother-in-law and nephew.
FINALLY got around to giving it a try! Came on a Friday afternoon around 1:30pm. This was recommended by my friend and it's delicious! Super light and flaky, and the filling in the middle is lovely and custardy!
Great stuff. Had a wonderful Italian Rum Cake and other treats.
The place is very clean and well maintained. They have a large variety of cakes and cookies. Their meats are fresh and thinly sliced for their delicious sandwiches. You need to find a street parking. The counter people need to be friendlier to their customers.
